February 2016 – Top of Slots

The results of this month show that there are long sellers and bestsellers among slots. Some games are here to stay and pop up in Most Popular category now and then, even some years after release. Most of them are forgotten really quickly. As we see, Glow, Koi Princess and Wizard of Gems did not even make it to the Top 20 this month, while DJ Wild and Nirvana are about to leave Top of Slots forever.

Our charts provide a good tool for analysis of online slots performance not only for our readers, but also for ourselves. We noticed quite a few interesting things, including the fact that Winterberries, Gemix and Big Bad Wolf strong position long-term. These slots can be considered to be longsellers. If you are not familiar with the book publisher terminology, this means that these titles are popular over long periods of time, while the bestsellers have their moment of fame and then disappear into thin air.

We predicted back in January that Mega Fortune slots would drop and, probably, disappear from Top of Slots this month. We were wrong. The large jackpot winnings were promoted a lot across all different online casinos and affiliate sites. This has led to pretty much the same exposure of these jackpot slots as in January.

Guns N’ Roses is a clear winner of Top of Slots in February 2016. Fantasini: Master of Mystery – the release of the month by NetEnt – a slot with a magician theme – wasn’t even close to competing with the rock slot. This was a bit unexpected as Fantasini was released on February 11 and could have earned more points. On the other hand, this slot is another one in series of mid-Month rereleases of formerly exclusive slots. Fantasini was prior to this date exclusive to Sportingbet sites.

The new slot of the month in February is Drive: Multiplier Mayhem. Not many manage to get the name right. Some casino managers love making spelling mistakes and write Multiplayer instead of Multiplier. This goes, though, only for those of them, who spell challenge with two A’s. Drive was launched in the very end of the month and is, therefore, left out of the fight for the top positions.

Dragon Born was launched around January 27 and got pretty much all of the points it will ever get this month. #6 is not bad at all for Big Time Gaming, most famous for their Temple Quest slot. Their games are fun indeed, however seem to be all built on the same engine.
